The Founders of Black History Month
Continuing the work of our founder, Dr. Carter G. Woodson, our mission is to promote, research, preserve, interpret and disseminate information about Black life, history and culture throughout our local and global communities. Through education, study, and publication, we’re able to share what W.E.B. Du Bois called the “Kingdom of Culture” with the world to create understanding and further the study of African American life and history.
